PIAUD Lecturer: Teachers have the challenge of developing moderate values

Teachers are the spearhead in early childhood education, interacting directly with children. Educators have the challenge of developing the values of moderation into a spirit in every dimension of education.
This was explained by the lecturer of the IslamicEarly Childhood Education Study Program (PIAUD), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Rohinah, in a public lecture that took the topic of Religious Moderation Education: building harmony and humanity in educating early childhood, Tuesday (25/10/2022).The event is a collaboration between the PIAUD Study Program,UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and the PIAUD Study Program,IAIN Metro Lampung.
Based on the results of her research, he explained that for early childhood education, moderation is essential. Children who grow up in harmony, tolerance, and peace will develop behavior and thoughts healthily and wisely. On the other hand, if they grow up in an environment filled with hate speech, violence, and intolerance, it will impact their current and future thoughts and behavior.
“Moderation is not only concerned with the issue of right and wrong but how to instill habits of good things in life. Thus, the children have high awareness and understanding as well as concern and commitment to apply virtue in their daily life”, he explained to 80 students participating in the public lecture.
